Under the sea
In this topic we will be investigating the natural world and noticing the differences and similarities between animals who live on land or in the ocean.
Our 'Talk For Writing' story will be ‘There was an old woman who swallowed the sea’. Look out for a handout of our class story map later in the term and challenge your child to use it to retell the story.
We will continue to develop our fine motor skills by using our fingers to cut, rip, squeeze, tear, wiggle and stretch. All of these finger exercises will strengthen our hands ready to write.
We are learning phonics sounds, please help us pronounce them correctly or spot them when we are out and about. E.g. ‘a’ for ‘apple’
We will continue to explore numbers, colours, shapes and sounds. We will work on using a range of tools such as pencils and scissors and encourage mark making in all areas of our Nursery.

We look forward to having a fun filled summer in Nursery!
At Brockmoor we believe that children can achieve their best when home and school work together. We use Tapestry to communicate with home and let you know all of the WOW moments your child has in school.
